It’s a blistering summer day in Arkansas and I make my way down the stairs of our duplex as the sound ‘EEEEEEEEE­AHH’ echoes up the stairwell.

Standing at the bottom landing, I watch my son Leo work up a sweat, sprinting on his tip toes while squealing loudly at the projector screen…

That year everything changed.

Leo was constantly under the weather and he became a very picky eater, only eating foods that were manilla colored like bread, crackers, and bananas.

I watched my happy baby turn into a distressed toddler.
